Lawnermower Deth are the next band to be announced for Download festival 2016.
They self-confirmed their appearance on Simon Mayo's BBC Radio 2 Show and since it seems as if many people haven't heard of them, then I'm guessing a little YouTubing of the band is going to be underway over the next few months.
Download festival 2016 will also be featuring Gutterdammerung. Never heard of it? It's a rock and roll/film/gig concept from Belgian-Swedish, Bjorn Tagemose. It will feature some of the biggest rock names on the planet.
This year, it will follow a traditional 1920's Hollywood classical movie. It will feature a live rock band and special effects from the film being exploded all around the audience whilst the band is playing.
The film is going to be set in a world where God has saved the world from all sin by taking the Devil's 'Grail of Sin' (The Evil Guitar) away from Earth. The Earth is now pure. Sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll is not allowed. Vicious (Iggy Pop) - who is a "punk-angel" in heaven - looks down upon Earth, sees that it's boring and sends The Evil Guitar back to Earth. Henry Rollins plays an evil puritan priest and tries to manipulate a girl into getting and destroying the guitar. Whilst on the journey to locate the Devil's Grail of Sin, she encounters some of the world's most evil rock and roll individuals.
The cast include: Iggy Pop, Grace Jones, Henry Rollins, Jesse Hughes, Lemmy, Tom Araya, Volbeat, Mark Lanegan, Joshua Homme, Justice, Slash and Nina Hagen.
Sounds awesome doesn't it? It's very different and very cool...
